Family and Friends,
Our family sincerely thanks you for the support you all have given to Laurie in her support of the Young Survival Coalition and the Tour De Pink over the years.
The Young Survival Coalition and the Tour de Pink were very important to Laurie. The resources and outreach provided by the YSC are invaluable tools to help young adults diagnosed with breast cancer feel empowered, supported and hopeful. Laurie was very proud to support their mission by taking on the challenge of participating in the Tour de Pink, a 3-day, 200+ mile bike ride to raise money so that “No young adult faces breast cancer alone.” We are honored to continue her fundraising efforts in this, her 14th Tour de Pink.
YSC is the only national nonprofit that solely focuses on serving young women under the age of 40 affected by breast cancer. YSC serves over 8,000 women each year with support and education to be their best health advocate throughout all stages of breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and long-term survivorship.
Established in 1998, Young Survival Coalition (YSC) is the largest nonprofit dedicated exclusively to young adults diagnosed with breast cancer age 40 and under and their co-survivor support networks. YSC also educates and influences the medical, research and legislative communities to address breast cancer in young adults. Through educational resources and programming, annual conferences, and local and online support networks, YSC ensures no young adult faces breast cancer alone. How will your donation help?
$25 could fund YSC materials at three healthcare providers’ offices.
$100 could provide a Newly Diagnosed Navigator to six women when they need it most.
$250 could allow us to train four survivors to serve as a peer supporters.
$500 could fund a survivor advocate in our RISE training program
$1,200 could pay for two young women to travel to the YSC Summit, an annual conference for young women affected by breast cancer and their co-survivors.
Laurie’s strength and courage are an inspiration to others battling breast cancer as well as their families and care givers. Laurie smiled in the face of cancer, using her diagnosis to educate herself so that she could support others in their cancer journeys.
Laurie always looked forward to riding the Tour de Pink each year with much enthusiasm. She enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new friends. She was grateful for the conversation and support shared by so many. She reached many of her daily TdP goals with the help of the ride marshalls and motos. Although she won’t be riding this year, she will definitely be there, in the hearts of everyone, from her friends and fellow riders, to the cheering fans at every rest stop, to the staff and support that make this event such a success.
Thank you again for your support and generosity.
