Welcome to Marcie Jannetti's Page

Marcie Jannetti

Yes! I'm riding the Tour de Pink again in 2020! It will be my 5th Tour de Pink ride!! In 2017, I did both the 3-day South ride, as well as the 1-day East ride. I have done the 3-day East ride each year since. It is a ride full of inspiration and determination. It is not a race, but rather a journey with friends, both new and old. There's laughter, there's tears, and when I'm around, odds are good that a turn will get missed! Memories are made among a group unlike any other you will ever ride with. As a survivor-rider, this event is a way for me to continue to take my life back from the cancer that disrupted it in 2016.

Some ride to support those currently receiving treatment, and those who are searching for their "new normal" post-treatment. Others who ride are the family and friends of those in treatment, or post-treatment. Still others who ride are those who just want to ride their bike and raise money for a cause. EVERYONE who rides has a story to tell about why they ride. 200 miles is a long way, but it is the stories and the friendships that keep us going. Those who've participated know "the bubble" all too well: 3 days of a magical place where we can escape from the stress of life, and get on our bikes, pedal our hearts out, and support and encourage each other.

Why do I ride?
I ride because I can. I ride because I find a sense of empowerment and freedom when on my bike. I ride to support the organization that supported me through my diagnosis. The resources of the YSC are unlike any other. A group that is in tune with the unique need of the younger breast cancer patient. I was 40 when i was diagnosed, and that is almost considered "old" by YSC standards, as many of those I've met through YSC were diagnosed in their 20s or 30s. YSC provides resources to help young adults navigate a cancer diagnosis. Young adults who are dating, starting families of their own, getting established in their career--all things that get turned upside down with a cancer diagnosis. The YSC supports young adults through it all. I've met some of the most amazing people through the Tour de Pink.

Tour de Pink is much more than just a bike ride, it’s a chance to honor survivors, raise awareness that young adults can and do get breast cancer, and to come together as a supportive community.

I hope I can count on you to help me reach my fundraising goal!

Your donation will directly support Young Survival Coalition and ensure that no young adult faces breast cancer alone. YSC offers resources, connections and outreach so women feel supported, empowered and hopeful. YSC is the only national nonprofit that solely focuses on serving young women under the age of 40 affected by breast cancer. YSC serves over 8,000 women each year with support and education to be their best health advocate throughout all stages of breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and long-term survivorship.

Established in 1998, Young Survival Coalition (YSC) is the largest nonprofit dedicated exclusively to young adults diagnosed with breast cancer age 40 and under and their co-survivor support networks. YSC also educates and influences the medical, research and legislative communities to address breast cancer in young adults. Through educational resources and programming, annual conferences, and local and online support networks, YSC ensures no young adult faces breast cancer alone. For more information, visit youngsurvival.org.

You can view YSC’s audited financials and annual reports online here: youngsurvival.org/who-we-are/financial-information

How will your donation help?

$25 could fund YSC materials at three healthcare providers’ offices.
$100 could provide a Newly Diagnosed Navigator to six women when they need it most.
$250 could allow us to train four survivors to serve as a peer supporters.
$500 could fund a survivor advocate in our RISE training program
$1,200 could pay for two young women to travel to the YSC Summit, an annual conference for young women affected by breast cancer and their co-survivors.

Any amount helps!

As I train for this amazing ride I plan to update this page frequently along with my social media accounts so that all of my supporters can see my progress.

Thank you in advance for your support. I truly appreciate your generosity.
