I am so excited to ride in the YSC Tour de Pink Lisa J. Frank Memorial Ride! Every dollar raised supports the young breast cancer community through Young Survival Coalition (YSC).

This will be my 9th time participating in this one of a kind event. Although the name of the ride has been changed as of last year, it is still the same amazing bicycle ride as it has been since it was created in 2004 by Matt Purdue and Lisa Frank. We lost Lisa to breast cancer in 2020, which is why the name of the ride changed, to honor her. It was a privilege to have known her and call her friend.

YSC is the largest nonprofit dedicated exclusively to young adults diagnosed with breast cancer age 40 and under and their co-survivor support networks. Through educational resources and programming, annual conferences, and local and online support networks, YSC ensures no young adult faces breast cancer alone. This year I will be dedicating my fundraising to the memory of my mom. She always did what she could to help me with my fundraising for this event. Although she wasn't diagnosed with breast cancer as a young woman, she suffered through it twice. I was diagnosed 3 years after her first diagnosis. She successfully survived both times she was diagnosed, but could not overcome all of the usual ravages of time on our bodies and peacefully passed away on May 27th of this year.
