Craig's New Charity Challenge

Craig McClory

I have just 2-1/2 weeks until the big event. I have been training as much as the weather and my work schedule will allow. Things are going well overall and I am excited about the big event to come! If interested, please follow the link on this page to donate to the cause. Fundraising is going well, but I still would like to get more donations to hit my revised goal.

I have a couple more weekends to get in my training rides and then head east for the event. I am really, really hoping for good weather during the ride.

Thanks for all of the support!!

After 2017 the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer has been discontinued. So after 13 years of participation, I am on to a new challenge!! This year I have made an exciting and challenging commitment to participate in YSC Tour de Pink, a three-day, 200 mile bike ride for breast cancer. It is in support of young women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer in need of resources to treat, cure and cope with the disease. I am sure that Rachelle would certainly approve of this effort.

I am excited and nervous about this new challenge. I enjoy riding my bike (though I have not done long rides like this) so this seems like a natural replacement for the walk. I will be training, raising funds (I need to raise $3000 to participate) and trying to keep this site updated. Thanks for your support!!

Your donation will go to support Young Survival Coalition and ensure that no young woman faces breast cancer alone. YSC is the premier organization providing supportive services and education resources for young women affected by breast cancer.

YSC Tour de Pink is much more than just a bike ride, it’s a chance to honor survivors, raise awareness and support important programs for young women affected by breast cancer. I hope I can count on you to help me reach my fundraising goal!

How will your donation help?

$25 could fund YSC materials at three healthcare providers’ offices.
$100 could provide a Newly Diagnosed Navigator to six women when they need it most.
$250 could allow us to train four survivors to serve as a peer supporters.
$500 could fund a Young Empowered Survivor (YES) educational program.
$1,200 could pay for two young women to travel to the YSC Summit, an annual conference for young women affected by breast cancer and their co-survivors.

Any amount helps!
