Coming Back Stronger!

Welcome Back!

This February I celebrated my 5 year metastatic cancerversary! That is a BIG DEAL! And 2020 was a bit of a wash, so I'm very excited to be participating in Tour de Pink again this year. This is also a big deal because it's a reminder that cancer doesn't define me and I am still healthy enough to do incredible things, like bike all over the state of New Jersey!

I'm not going to lie, the last year and a half have been tough, mentally and physically. We all know the feeling of isolation that the pandemic brought, which was especially true for those of us that are immune compromised. Everyone needs their friends and family and it was especially difficult to not have those social supports in place last year. But who was there for me when I needed it? YSC's Metastatic online 'Hangout'. And honestly, you would be SHOCKED to see how many new faces joined our group this year. :( Dozens of new young women were finding their way to our group and searching for ways to connect in an unprecedented time in history.

Early this year, when life was starting to return to normal, my body was NOT cooperating. First, I had a pleural effusion, then I had plantar fasciitis, then I had a blood clot! It felt like I could not catch a break. Well, apart from being on blood thinners for the foreseeable future, I am doing a lot better now. My lungs are not 100 percent better, but I am moving around a lot more and I keep improving. No, my cancer is not exactly gone, it's still active in my lungs. But I am trying to see past that and push my body just a little bit harder to get back to what I love which is training for this ride. I hope you will choose to support me and my team in whatever way is comfortable for you. Any amount helps!

There are more than 250,000 survivors who were diagnosed with breast cancer before age 40 living in the U.S. today. They are navigating an already permanently altered life after cancer now compounded by COVID-19.
I have made the exciting decision to participate in YSC Virtual Tour de Pink this year to raise funds to support them through the Young Survival Coalition (YSC).
I hope I can count on you to help me reach my fundraising goal. Any amount helps!
YSC is the largest nonprofit dedicated exclusively to young adults diagnosed with breast cancer age 40 and under and their co-survivor support networks. Through educational resources and programming, annual conferences, and local and online support networks, YSC ensures no young adult faces breast cancer alone. For more information, visit youngsurvival.org.
You can view YSC’s audited financials and annual reports online here: youngsurvival.org/who-we-are/financial-information
As I get moving for the survivors and thrivers, I plan to update this page frequently along with my social media accounts so that all of my supporters can see my progress towards my fundraising and personal fitness goals.
Thank you in advance for your support. I truly appreciate your generosity.
