Route

The 2017 Tour de Pink East Coast is an exciting and scenic ride starting in Trevose and heads down to the Delaware River where we go through Washington Crossing Park and the very site that was used for the crossing on December 24, 1776. Then we go on too artsy New Hope, cross the river (we use a bridge) and enter Lambertville, New Jersey.

Skirting around the Sourland Mountains we head toward Princeton, where the short route and long route depart from one another. The short route passes around Princeton while the long route proceeds to Raritan through the homestead of the Duke family, known for the university and the tobacco company. Then turning south, we travel along the beautiful Weston Canal Road and to our first overnight in Princeton. Party to the sweet smell of success having completed a century ride.

On Saturday (day 2 and the one-day ride option) day we head out from Princeton, NJ and pass by the alien landing site from "War of the Worlds", around Hightstown and through Roosevelt, a post WW2 settlement (be sure to check the bust of FDR). Rural roads are in order and we reach Asbury Park, where some might want to visit the Stone Pony and the boardwalk.

Sunday (day three) is the celebration day, short and fun, we head back through some country roads to Freehold and historic Fort Monmouth. Our final destination is Long Branch where a beach party awaits.

Ride totals: 211.5 miles. 7,225 feet elevation
